The Performance Designs Valkyrie is a highly responsive 7-cell cross-braced main canopy for expert pilots who want smooth openings, powerful rear-riser performance, strong shutdown power, and serious everyday speed.
It builds on the Peregrine performance DNA developed by Performance Designs for freefall use, with opening performance, controllability and real-world jumpability at the centre of the design.
The Valkyrie is not a first cross-braced canopy. It belongs with highly experienced cross-braced pilots, camera flyers and canopy pilots who have mastered their current high-performance wing.

A high-performance canopy with real bite
The Valkyrie is for expert pilots already comfortable on cross-braced canopies. It is a step up from the Competition Velocity, with more power, responsiveness, rear-riser performance and shutdown authority than a conventional sport main.
PD describes the openings as superb for a canopy in this class. Expect a highly responsive wing with strong harness sensitivity, powerful rear risers, a long recovery arc and serious stopping power when flown by the right pilot.
Do not use a blanket downsize rule when switching to a Valkyrie. Skill, currency, current canopy, goals and cross-braced experience matter more than a simple one-size-smaller formula.

Choosing the right Valkyrie is easier when you have actually flown one. The Performance Designs demo program lets you jump a PD canopy before ordering so you can feel openings, harness response, recovery arc, rear-riser power, shutdown and overall handling in real conditions.

Is the PD Valkyrie right for me?
The Valkyrie is for highly experienced pilots who are already comfortable on cross-braced canopies. If this would be your first cross-braced canopy, the honest answer is: not yet.
What does the Valkyrie feel like compared with a Competition Velocity?
Think of the Valkyrie as the next step after the Comp Velocity: more responsive, more powerful on rear risers, stronger shutdown and still built for freefall deployments.
Will a Hybrid Valkyrie fit my container?
Do not assume it will fit because your current all-ZP canopy does. Sail ribs add pack volume; send us your container model, current canopy and reserve size before ordering.
What size Valkyrie should I buy?
There is no simple downsize-one-size rule. Current wing, currency, landings, goals, landing area and speed-management experience all matter.
What are the openings like?
For this level of canopy, PD calls the openings superb. Packing, body position, deployment speed, slider or RDS setup, line condition and wing loading still matter.
Is the Valkyrie good for camera flying or long spots?
For the right pilot, yes. Choose a size and setup you can fly cleanly when the skydive is not perfect.
Do I need an RDS on a Valkyrie?
Not always. An RDS suits pilots chasing maximum performance and drag reduction; some everyday jumpers and camera flyers prefer a normal slider.
Can I demo a Valkyrie before buying?
Yes — especially when changing size or moving from another cross-braced wing. View the PD demo program.
Should I buy stock or custom?
Choose stock for the fastest delivery when the exact size and configuration are right. Choose custom for colors, construction, line/RDS setup or a factory configuration not currently available.
How fast can I get a stock Valkyrie Hybrid?
European stock usually delivers in about 1–2 weeks; U.S. stock is usually around 2–3 weeks, subject to availability, shipping route and customs.
How long does a custom Valkyrie take?
A custom Valkyrie is built to order by Performance Designs. Current production time is 12-18 weeks. We confirm the expected lead time while reviewing your order.
