How we got here

We built the shop because finding trustworthy gear advice was harder than it should be.

Before SkydiveShop.com, we were jumpers and instructors trying to make sense of the same thing our students were struggling with: which gear is actually right, who to trust, and what matters before spending serious money.

1We saw new jumpers comparing products without enough real context.

2We saw students confused with the same questions about fit, canopies, container choice, helmets, altimeters and lead times.

3So the shop became a way to make those decisions clearer, not just another place to add gear to a cart.

Ernestas runs SkydiveShop.com and is usually the person asking the annoying-but-important gear questions before you spend money: what you jump now, how many jumps you have, where you’re realistically going, whether now is actually the right time to buy, and whether a “cool” choice will still make sense in six months. He has been skydiving since 2013, has 6,000+ jumps, and holds USPA Coach, USPA AFF Instructor and USPA Tandem Instructor ratings.

Jurate is the person who has seen gear choices play out on actual jump days — with AFF students, coaching jumps, camera flying and plenty of fun jumps in between. Her perspective is useful because she notices the small things that do not always show up in product specs: the details you only learn by being around real jump days.

Ilaria Colombo

Ilaria is the youngest skydiver on our team, but she has packed a lot of experience into a short time. You’ll find her at the dropzone almost every day — jumping, asking questions, making friends and being loud in the best way. She also helps take care of SkydiveShop’s social media, so the online side of the shop stays connected to real dropzone life. She keeps the newer-jumper perspective close to the shop, helping us explain gear choices before you already know all the jargon: helmets, altimeters, suits, first rig questions, and what actually feels right for your stage.

He is the builder behind our wing-loading calculator and other behind-the-scenes magic tools — the kind of useful work that helps more than just our shop — it helps the wider skydiving community too.
