The Leia is built for pilots who swoop every jump.

What size Leia do I need?

What's the difference between Leia and JFX 2?

The JFX 2 is JYRO's entry-level crossbraced canopy for pilots transitioning from 9-cells. The Leia is the flagship — it adds FailSmart lineset technology, removes stabilizers for cleaner aerodynamics, and is designed for higher wing loadings (2.2–2.8 vs 1.6–2.2). The Leia delivers significantly more speed, dive, and flare power but requires substantially more experience to fly safely.

What is an RDS Slider?

RDS (Removable Deployment System) is a slider that can be removed after opening to reduce drag during flight. This gives cleaner canopy flight and slightly better performance. RDS is standard equipment for serious swooping — most Leia pilots use RDS. It adds €500 to the canopy price.

How many jumps should I have before flying a Leia?

JYRO recommends the Leia for expert pilots with 1000+ jumps who have extensive crossbraced experience — typically 200+ jumps on a canopy like the JFX 2 at wing loadings above 2.0 lbs/sqft. The Leia is not an appropriate first crossbrace. Strong swooping fundamentals, gate running experience, and comfort with aggressive recovery arcs are essential.

How long is the Leia lead time?

Custom orders take approximately 30 weeks from the JYRO factory. In-stock canopies arrive in 1–2 weeks. Stock canopies marked "In Production" may take slightly longer. Check the stock section above for what's available right now.

Can I design my own color scheme?

What containers fit the Leia?

Crossbraced canopies pack smaller than their square footage suggests. A Leia 104 may fit in a container sized for a 120-130 sq ft 9-cell. Compatibility varies by manufacturer — contact us with your container model and we'll check the fit for you.
