The CYPRES Cutter is the pyrotechnic cutting device used in CYPRES AAD systems to sever the reserve closing loop during an automatic activation event. It is a sealed, single-use component designed to deliver a fast, clean cut under load, ensuring reliable reserve container opening when triggered.
The cutter is installed inline with the reserve closing loop and is engineered to minimize friction, resist contamination, and function consistently throughout its service life. Once fired, the cutter must be replaced.
