Frequently asked questions
Buying a skydiving helmet
Short answers to the questions that matter before you choose a helmet.
Which type of skydiving helmet should I choose?
Choose a full-face helmet if you want a visor and a more enclosed feel. Choose an open-face helmet if you prefer airflow, easy communication and a simpler setup. Choose a camera helmet when you need a dedicated filming platform or camera-mount configuration. Compare full-face and open-face helmets.
Which full-face helmet is right for me: TFX, G35 or G4?
Fit comes first. The Tonfly TFX is the premium custom option; the Cookie G35 is a practical modern all-rounder; and the Cookie G4 suits jumpers who prefer its fit and more substantial feel. Read the TFX vs G35 vs G4 comparison.
How should a skydiving helmet fit?
Use the manufacturer’s sizing guide, but do not choose by measurement alone when you can avoid it. A helmet should sit securely without pressure points, excessive movement or an uncomfortable fit around the forehead and jaw. If you are between sizes or unsure, contact us before ordering.
Can I use any helmet for a camera setup?
All helmets can be used with a dedicated camera mount, provided the mount is compatible with the exact helmet model and your planned setup. Some manufacturers do not recommend using cameras because of the added safety considerations. Check the manufacturer’s guidance before fitting a camera.
