In the USPA’s Integrated Student Program, Category C students learn to inspect the main closing loop before each jump. The guideline is clear: the loop should show “no more than 10 percent” wear. This rule, based on advice from Virginia rigger Harry Schoelpple, has been a standard since 2001.
