There is no exact jump number for line replacement. As a rough guide, smaller performance lines such as 500 HMA or 500 Vectran on canopies like the PD Valkyrie may need attention sooner than larger workhorse line sets used on canopies like the Sabre3 or Navigator.

Conditions matter more than the number. Sand, dust, rough packing areas, damaged slider grommets, hard openings, and heavy use can wear lines much faster than clean packing and grass landings.

As a simple rule, stay with the same line type currently installed on your canopy unless your rigger recommends changing it. For most canopies, where available, we recommend Vectran lines because they offer a good balance of performance, trim stability, and durability.
